Meet The Filmmaker Event

On July 17th 2009 the D.C. Language Access Coalition had their first summer event of 2009 ‘Meet the Filmmaker’. This event featured Childhood in Translation, a documentary done by filmmaker Robert Winn and provided the attendees an opportunity to meet him. The event was a great success, bringing together community members, language access advocates and supporters for
a resourceful and fun evening. The highlight of the event was the announcement of Robert Winn’s new project - a documentary focusing on the Mt. Pleasant Fire and its LEP Victims who had trouble accessing EMS and which will be done here in D.C. Community members were able to discuss this new project and give Robert Winn great feedback with their ideas and concerns. The Coalition would like to thank all the attendees, the Trinity AME Zion church and Robert Winn for making this event amazing and successful.
