Sapna Pandya
Director
Sapna Pandya, MPH joined the DC Language Access Coalition as the Immigrant Health Analyst in February 2010 and was promoted to Co Director in April 2010. Though originally from the DC area, she has been away for several years - most recently serving for five years in New York City as Director of Programs for the South Asian Health Initiative (SAHI) at the Center for Immigrant Health (CIH) of the New York University School of Medicine, helping South Asian and other Asian Pacific Islander (API) immigrants in New York City navigate barriers to health care, including language barriers.

Alle Kamela
Outreach and Language Services Program Coordinator (AmeriCorps*VISTA)
Alle Kamela is the Outreach and Language Services Program Coordinator (AmeriCorps*VISTA) for the Coalition and Multicultural Community Service (MCS). She will be supporting MCS in programmatic work with interpreters and translators. She received her B.A. in Sociology and Spanish from Whittier College.

Angela Lam
Grants and Fundraising Specialist (AmeriCorps*VISTA)
Angela Lam is the Grants and Fundraising Specialist (Americorps*VISTA). She writes grants and carries out grassroots fundraising campaigns for the Coalition as well as provides administrative and programmatic support. She grew up outside Baltimore and majored in American Studies and International Relations at Tufts University.

Jenny Nelson
Education Project Coordinator (AmeriCorps*VISTA)
Jenny Nelson joined the Coalition in August 2010 as the Education Project Coordinator (AmeriCorps*VISTA) after graduating from the University of Denver with a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish. Her work and study abroad through Latin America, along with involvement at Centro Humanitario in Denver working with day laborers have made her aware of the challenges many immigrant communities face with language barriers.

Karina Hurtado-Ocampo
Lead Education Organizer
Karina Hurtado-Ocampo is the Coalition's Lead Education Organizer and works with the S.M.A.R.T. (Student Multiethnic Action Research Team) fellows, a youth-led decision-making body which advocates and organizes for better education for ESL students and their families.

Tereguebode Goungou
Language Access Advocate
Tereguebode Goungou is the Coalition's Language Access Advocate. Goungou immigrated to the US from Togo in 1999 and is a resident of the District and is actively engaged in community outreach and organizing.
Tina Pham
Community Organizer, Nail Salon Project
Tina Pham joined MLOV in February 2011 as a consultant to continue working on the D.C. Nail Salon Project. She will be working with local Vietnamese and immigrant communities to assess, educate, and organize nail salon workers and business owners on issues such as environmental and occupational impact on health, healthcare access, worker rights, and broader language access issues that intersect with the nail salon industry.
